This topic is more important than a lot of people think. If your life consists of just work, work, work, you will not have much room to grow personally, spiritually, and physically. Now, I understand why a lot of people want to work all the time, whether it is to get something off of their mind or if it is to try to get that promotion at work so you can get that house of your dreams or go on that dream vacation to islands or a different country. While you are working for that, it is VITAL that you take time to yourself.
Do something that will make you feel like a child again. Do something that will lower your stress levels. HAVE FUN. That is the most important aspect of personal growth is to have fun with what you are doing. If it is with your job, starting your business, or your stress-relieving activity you must have fun with it.
One thing that I have learned is that you will discover so much about yourself when you are having fun living life than you will be working your life away. For me personally, I have learned much more in my time traveling the world than I have in college so far. The reason behind it, for me, is that when I was traveling, I had an interest in topics so I would study them myself. While in school, it is harder to learn while you are sitting in a chair listening to someone speak to you. THAT IS NOT LEARNING.
My advice to anyone who may need a break from their normal routine and trying to find themselves would be, take a year to travel. Explore other cultures. Challenge yourself to find something that makes you uncomfortable and act on it. You will grow much more than you think.
The overall point I am making is to make sure that a balance in your life is achieved. This consists of personal balance, work balance, and dietary balance. Without balance we will break and we will not be as good of a human we want to be!
Remember that you are in control of your life and only you can Build YourLife.
